"Just Right" for wine lovers
Room temperature is the rule of thumb for serving red wine but what room are we talking about? Well, it's actually the cellar -- where the temperature should be between 13 and 15°C. Since most of us keep our thermostats a little higher, we are probably drinking our reds a bit too warm.
Serving wine at reduced temperature diminishes the unpleasant bite on the palate that can occur from the alcohol. Too cold isn't good either -- the wine will exhibit less pronounced bouquet and flavours.
Ravi is an instant wine chiller designed to cool the wine at the moment of serving. Made of two components, one that goes in the freezer, it simply attaches to the bottle. By adjusting a valve, you can control the flow of wine through Ravi to obtain the desired temperature.
Try a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Bordeaux, Zinfandel or Shiraz at 15°C. Just right.
