Garlic Festival
I'm pretty sure there isn't a kissing booth at the festival. In any case - it's strictly BYOM - bring your own mints! Have you been to the Sharing Farm? It's on a pocket of land in the beautiful Terra Nova area of Richmond. The Farm is (apart from two staff) volunteer run and grows organic produce for local food banks. I had the pleasure of volunteering there and my duties included helping dig the ditches for...garlic! The Garlic Festival is happening on Sunday and features artisan garlic sales, garlic ice cream, cookign demos, entertainment, kids activities and food. It's a great way to spend a Sunday - go for a walk around the lands afterwards. Visit the website for transportation details (limited parking onsite).
Sunday Aug 19th, 10am-3pm, Terra Nova Rural Park, 2631 Westminister Hwy, Richmond, BC

Steveston Farmers Market
Make it a Richmond day and check out the Steveston Farmers Market. Local food vendors aplenty - don't forget to get some Pajo's on the dock!
Sunday Aug 19th, 10am-4pm, Corner of 3rd Av & Moncton St., Richmond, BC
