Whistler Farmer's Market

After a very, very long wait - we finally have summer weather! Take this opportunity to make the incredible drive up to Whistler to explore summertime mountain culture and the Farmer's market. As well as the usual type of market vendors, it features family activities and live entertainment. The market is also running a Wednesday afternoon session that will continue until the end of August (3-7pm).
Sundays 11am-4pm, Upper Village Stroll, Whistler

Indonesian Day

We are spoiled for choice for Asian cuisine in Vancouver, especially Chinese and Japanese, so why not explore another part of Asia? It is Indonesian Independence Day and celebrations take place at the Scandinavian Community Centre (don't let that confuse you!). There will lots of food to try as well as cultural activities and performances appropriate for the whole family.
Sunday July 8th, 10:30am-5pm, Scandinavian Community Centre (6540 Thomas St, Burnaby), $3 admission

Callingwood Farmers Market

This market is the city's original and largest Sunday Market. It runs from 10am-3pm (also on Wednesdays between 2-6pm) in the covered courtyard area of The Marketplace at Callingwood Shopping Centre. They adhere to the 80/20 rule where 80% of their vendors must make/produce what they sell. Support your local community by stopping by for a visit to meet your makers!
