Gastown BBQ & Chili Festival
I hope you had a chance to check out RibFest at the PNE and if you didn't, you get a second chance to partake in some awesome BBQ at the Gastown BBQ & Chili Festival. It's going to be a full block party as Carrall St between Cordova and Water will be shut down for the event. 12 Gastown restaurants will be competing in a variety of culinary challenges which includes beef sliders, chicken wings and ribs. There will be, of course, chili! Tasting tickets are available for $2 each and remember to vote for your faves!
Sat Sept 1 - Sun Sept 2, 1pm-5pm for public tastings (see schedule on website for detailed info), Gastown (Carrall St b/w Cordova and Water)

Harvest Festival @ Reynolds-Alberta Museum
Discover a little history at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin. They will have over 40 pieces of vintage farm equipment..in action! See how your produce went from farm to table "back in the day". It should be a great weekend to take the family to explore the evolution of farm equipment and practices. There are also bread baking demos happening which is convenient as they will also be hosting demos of butter making! (I wonder if they are next to each other.) There will also be a Farmer's Market outside the grounds.
Sat Sept 1 - Sun Sept 2, 6426 - 40 Avenue, Wetaskiwin
