Tool - OXO Good Grips Mandoline

If you’re an avid slicer-of-things, our tool this week might be tailor made for you. It’s the OXO Good Grips Chef’s Mandoline Slicer! This handy tool allows you to slice fruits and vegetables from fry-thick to paper-thin. Want that cucumber julienned? You got it! Ripples? No problem! Want to make waffle-cut chips? Then this is the tool for you. The mandoline’s array of blades and settings allows you to produce cuts from a shred, julienne, flat slices, ripples and waffles. The tool is propped up and has non-slip legs for ergonomic and safety and please (please!) use the guard! As someone who has cut themselves quite carelessly (I really wanted to push that turnip through), I will always remember to use the guard. Don’t make my mistake. But don’t let my cautionary tale stop you from considering the Mandoline to become a part of your kitchen’s arsenal of tools!
Tip: The body and guard are top rack dishwasher safe (remember to flip out the body’s runways).
Trick: The guard can be stored on the underside of the slicer – so never worry about misplacing it!
